Description:

A practical course covering a range of methodologies in common use in Immunology and other biomedical research fields.

Lectures will cover:

  1. theoretical basis of methods
  2. common applications in immunology
  3. practical pitfalls and common problems
  4. advantages and disadvantages of competing methodologies


Exam Format: Take-home exam of experimental problems incorporating several of the covered methodologies. Answers independently graded by at least 3 instructors and averaged.

Evaluation:

Mid-term exam (take-home): 30%
Final Exam (take-home) 70%

The exam will cover lectures 1-7 and is worth 30% of your final grade. It will be handed out after class. It is due at 4:00 p.m., March 7, 2014.
