Readings in Infectious Diseases - MMIC 7190
3 Credit Hours
Schedule Can register in term 1 OR term 2
Description  The student is to work with an instructor who has an academic appointment in the Department of Medical Microbiology and who agrees to do so in writing to the course supervisor. The instructor may be the student’s graduate studies supervisor. The student will conduct an appropriate in depth literature search on three aspects of a mutually agreed topic and present the "state of the science" and a critical review of it, to the instructor. This will be done as a series of interactive sessions that are timed for the convenience of both the student and the instructor. The review can be a written or oral presentation or a combination of both.  There is no restriction on the topic chosen. The topic can directly relate to the topic of the student’s research thesis project and the work can be subsequently applied to the thesis as appropriate. The instructor will provide the course supervisor with a brief description of the planned course, a grade for the student at the course completion as well as a brief summary description of how the student performed.
