Research Interests:
Dr. Kiazyk directs a new program in the area of Tuberculosis (TB) infection and immunology, bridging both the National Reference Centre for Mycobacteriology, and the National Laboratory for HIV Immunology. We utilize cutting edge immunology techniques such as multiparametric flow cytometry and multiplex cytokine analysis to understand TB-specific immune responses. The program is curently focused on studies relating to improved TB immunodiagnostics, correlates of TB immunity, immunopathogenesis of TB in the context of type 2 diabetes, and TB/HIV coinfection
