Facility History:
Genetic analysis is a key tool of many research programs. This facility is capable of performing real-time gene amplification, DNA sequencing, microsatellite and fragment analysis. The primary purpose of the facility is to meet the needs of members of the Department of Medical Microbiology and their collaborators, however, when possible other members of the research community may use the facility on a user fee basis.

Facility Equipment:
The Core operates a Roche LightCycler and a ABI 310 single capillary genetic analyse and an ABI 3100 16 capillary genetic analyser.

Services Provided:
Initial training is provided until individuals can efficient operate the equipment themselves.
