  1. General understanding of basics of the concepts of transgender/differentially gendered/transsexuals/transvestites and diagnostic criteria associated.
  2. Being able to recognize the different components of caring for a patient with gender identity disorder and how they relate to a gynaecologist's role.
  3. Basic understanding of female transgender surgeries and it's implication for technique used for the gynaecological surgeries performed.
  4. Basic understandig of the different techniques for male transgender surgery and how it relates to post-op complications (as they may present to a gynaecologist).
  5. Appreciation of the difference in caring for a transgender patients and knowledge of the resources available in caring for these patients.
