The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences will provide high quality medical education to future physicians and will participate in the education of other health care providers. The Department will contribute to the advancement of medical education by supporting its physicians, trainees and stakeholders in research and academic enquiry. The Department remains aware of its standing as the only medical school within Manitoba and of the need to provide high level care to not only Manitoba but also the surrounding catchment areas. The Department will ensure patients and students remain the focus of all its activities.
The Department strives to provide the most up to date evidence based education leading to clinical competency from routine women's health care to care for the medically complex and high risk including, fetal maternal medicine, reproductive endocrinology and oncology.
Vision
The vision of the Women's Health Program is to provide accessible, comprehensive, culturally sensitive and effective women's health services, throughout the lifecycle, in a seamless system between hospital and community. The Program will respect informed choices, utilize evidence based outcomes to provide clinical services and promote education and research in providing exemplary care in an open environment that fosters creativity and innovation.
