Welcome to the Section of Research at the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences

We are committed to developing and sustaining an interdisciplinary research program in medical education and clinical care, with the purpose of acquiring new knowledge in the discipline and promote improvements in the delivery of Women’s health including collaboration with basic science departments and other clinical departments including Pediatrics, Neonatology, Anesthesia, Family Medicine, Nursing, and Midwifery.

We welcome collaboration and aim to improve the quality of obstetric, gynecologic and reproductive health care for the women and children in Manitoba.

There are many research-related activities in our department, ranging from teaching research methods (with Drs. Lisa Avery and Shayne Taback), assisting residents and faculty members with their journal clubs, grant applications, ethics applications, abstracts, and manuscripts for publication, to research project collaborations. As we have more members in my group, we are able to contribute more to the research projects in our department.

We encourage you to contact us at the beginning of your research and we can assist with the following:

1.  Study design
(research methods, power and sample size calculation)
2.  Data analysis
3.  Interpretation of results
4.  Connecting with other researchers
(within or outside our department)

Research Facilitation Services include:

Assist researchers at all stages of the proposal development process to develop competitive research grant applications, proposals, and clinical trial protocols that support research in the medical sciences.
