The Mature Women’s Centre is a nurse-managed interdisciplinary referral-based program for individuals requiring comprehensive management of menopause and the peri-menopause.  Our clinics include: Menopause, Osteoporosis and Fracture Prevention and Hysterectomy Alternatives.  We work closely with CancerCare Manitoba to assist women experiencing menopausal concerns who have been treated for malignancy.

We are currently developing a Women’s Cardiac Health Program in association with the Lifestyle Program.

Over 5,000,000 women are moving through the menopausal transition in Canada.  The graying of Canada over the next 25 years will present special challenges for Gynecologists, Family Physicians and other health care professionals faced with the unique needs of this age group.  Issues related to menopause have frequently been ignored and avoided over the past decade since the Women’s Health Initiative Study was made public.  Women entering the menopausal transition deserve our support in order to maintain health, prevent disease and improve quality of life.
