How to Apply

The University of Manitoba Faculty of Graduate Studies and various units offering graduate programs work together to ensure all applicants are treated consistently and fairly.  Applicants must meet the minimum admission requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and the academic standards for graduate level study in a specific field.  Applicants with a B.Sc.(Hons.), M.Sc., M.D., D.V.M., or B.Pharm. may be admitted into the M.Sc. or Ph.D. program. English proficiency scores may be required for foreign applicants.

Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL– Paper-based test (550); Internet based -iBT (80)
anadian Test of English for Scholars and Teachers CanTEST (band 4.5 in listening and reading and band 4.0 in writing and oral interview)
International English Language Testing System IELTS (6.5)
Academic English Program for University and College Entrance AEPUCE (65%)
Canadian Academic English Language Assessment CAEL (60 overall and 60 on each subset)

Deadlines for Recommended Applications (from Departments to the Faculty of Graduate Studies)
The following are the deadlines for receipt by the Faculty of Graduate Studies Office for recommendations from graduate departments.

Department deadlines are one (1) month prior to these deadlines.

IMPORTANT:Applicants are required to submit the application and documentation to the Faculty of Graduate Studies for an earlier date than is listed above. Applicants are advised to confirm the deadline of the department to which the application is being made.
