Program Overview

Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Centre (MATC) provides mental health services to children and youth with psychiatric and/or emotional disorders. A full continuum of programs and services, both community and hospital-based, are available to residents of Manitoba, Nunavut and north-western Ontario.

Services range from brief intervention to intensive long term treatment. Treatment is provided by a multi-disciplinary team from a variety of perspectives and is delivered in partnership with parents and collateral agencies.

Community Child & Adolescent Treatment Service is community-based mental health treatment services for Winnipeg children, adolescents and their families, with a wide variety of psychiatric, emotional, and behavioral issues.

Educational Psychiatric Services is a community-based service which works in partnership with the Child Guidance Clinic and Winnipeg schools to provide psychiatric consultation and treatment services within the educational system in Winnipeg.

Neurodevelopmental Services work in partnership with many agencies and services to provide a variety of psychiatric services for children with developmental disabilities and complex multi-diagnostic issues. Services include consultation, follow-up and/or treatment to clients of Children's Special Services; New Directions for Children, Youth, Adults and Families; Hydra House; St. Amant Centre.

Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention Services identifies, supports, and treats individuals between the ages of 13 to 35 years who are experiencing or recovering from a psychotic disorder.

Early Childhood Clinic works with pediatricians, family physicians and the Provincial Daycare offices of the Department of Family Services. A MATC disciplinary team provides assessment and brief treatment for families with infants, toddlers, and children 5 years of age and younger.

Hospital Program provides hospital-based intensive treatment interventions with residential, day and follow-up services for adolescents and their families from Manitoba, Nunavut, and north-western Ontario.

Youth Forensic Services is a community-based psychiatric/psychological assessment and brief treatment service for adolescents involved with the Youth Justice System including Manitoba Courts, Manitoba Youth Centre, Agassiz Youth Centre, and community-based probation services.
