Professional Bio:
Steven Denby is a graduate of the University of Manitoba, holding Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education degrees. While a student he sang with the University Singers, conducted by Professor Henry Engbrecht.
Upon graduation he began a teaching career in the Winnipeg Public School system. From 1989 to July 1, 2001, he oversaw the music program at Ecole River Heights.
In addition to directing the Bison Men's Chorus, he is on the staff at J.H. Bruns, where he teaches band, choral, guitar and technical music production. He has served as director of the Dutch Canadian Choir and has co-directed the Central Manitoba Youth Choir. For relaxation he sings with "The Riffs", a five-voice male acappella group, as well as a number of other music-making projects at any given time. He served as chorus director for the University's production of "You Can't Beat Fun" in 2002.
