January 8 - The Bison women’s volleyball team started the
New Year with their fourth consecutive non-conference tournament
title this season at the 2008 Quality Hotel Ottawa Invitational,
which ran from January 3-5. Heading into the second half of the
season, Manitoba has now registered a sparkling overall record of
32-1 while still holding the number one spot heading into the second
half of the season.
Overall
this season, the Herd is 23-0 in five tournaments and four tourney
titles (Lea Marc Volleyball Challenge did not have a tournament
final) with a 9-1 conference record and has only suffered one loss
this season (3-2 to #2 ranked UBC on Nov. 10). Manitoba is currently
on a four game conference winning streak and 13 game overall winning
streak.
Manitoba
has been ranked number one in the CIS Top 10 poll since the start
of the 2007-08 season (eight polls).

Volleyball Notes: Manitoba and Trinity Western
matches on Sunday, January 13 will have new start times. The women’s
match will begin at noon with the men’s match at 2 p.m. at
Investors Group Athletic Centre. The start time of Saturday’s
matches will remain the same (women’s at 1 p.m. and men’s
at 3 p.m.)
