January
9 - The Bison men’s track and field team starts the New Year
ranked as the number one team in the country in the latest CIS Top
10 poll. This is the first time the men’s side has been ranked
at the top position since 2004 (week of January 7/04).
Bison
track and field head coach Claude Berube commented, “The top
ranking shows that our team will be good this year. Our goal is
still Top 4 or 5 in the country at the end of the year and there
are still many weeks to go before Nationals. It is a nice boost
for the moral of the team heading into the rest of the year.”
Both Bison track and field teams are currently ranked number one
among Canada West schools. Along with the Bison men’s track
and field team at first, the women’s track and field squad
is ranked number seven in the country.
