Oct.
1 - Scott Coe of the Bisons had five tackles and a sack Friday
night as Manitoba shut out British Columbia Thunderbirds 23-0 at
Vancouver. Those statistics helped the six-foot-three, 230-pound
player, a Canada West all-star a season ago, and the Bisons register
the season's first shutout. The fact they got it done on the road
spoke volumes of their defence which, as a unit, plays tough and
with discipline. This also said a mouthful: The Thunderbirds were
held to a net offence of 147 yards, a conference season low. Coe
is an alumnus of Winnipeg's Kelvin High and is in fourth-year Arts.
The outside linebacker who wears #56 for the Bisons was named the
Canada West Rookie of the Year in 1998.
