15 - The NDSCS men’s basketball team has won its fourth straight
game. The Wildcats defeated the University of Manitoba on Saturday
(Dec. 15) afternoon 81-70.
The
University of Manitoba is in the University system in Canada, which
allows students five years of athletic eligibility compared to two
years of athletic eligibility at NDSCS.
NDSCS started the game flat trailing 48-46 at halftime thanks in
part to Manitoba shooting 61.5 percent from the field with eight
three-point baskets. The
second half was a different story. The Wildcats picked up their
defensive pressure forcing Manitoba into 15 second-half turnovers.
NDSCS
was led by James Eayrs with 26 points and Jaden Voth with 15 points.
Former NDSCS men’s basketball player Isaac Ansah led Manitoba in
scoring with 25 points. Ansah was a starter for the Wildcats in
2005 when they took seventh place at the National Tournament in
Hutchinson, Kansas.
