9 - The Brandon University Lady Bobcats are still searching for
that elusive first victory. The ‘Cats dropped a 90-63 decision to
the University of Manitoba Bisons Friday night at the BU Gymnasium,
falling to 0-3 this season in conference play. With the win, the
Bisons improved their record to 2-1.
“I don’t know what it is right now,” said visibly frustrated Brandon
head coach Jaime Hickson afterwards. “I don’t know if it’s a matter
of X’s and O’s or a matter of us being distracted or a matter of
us not communicating enough. We settled for what they gave us and
didn’t handle their pressure well at all.”
Leigh-Anne Legal-Young led the way for Manitoba with 17 points,
while Melanie Schlichter scored 11. Kait Flett and Michele Hynes
each added 10 for the Bisons.
Allie
Butz and Dayna Prost scored 13 apiece for the Bobcats.
The
provincial rivals will meet again on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled
for 6 p.m.
