to Excellence; the Bison hockey program is committed
to it’s vision of becoming the best Men’s Hockey program in Canadian
Interuniversity Sport.
Team
Chemistry; the Bison’s only recruit quality people to
our hockey program. We are interested in hard working, honest,
and dedicated players who put team goals ahead of individual goals.
Quality
Education; the University of Manitoba is a large campus
that offers a wide range of program choices. The U of M sets a
high standard for education and our graduating student athletes
are highly sought by employers both nationally and internationally.
Scholarships;
the University of Manitoba offers Athletic Awards to Bison student
athletes up to the equivalent of tuition fees.
Development;
the Bison Hockey program has an outstanding coaching staff including
a full time conditioning coach, who provide strong leadership
and are committed to your development as an athlete and as a person.
Facilities
and Equipment; the University of Manitoba features some
of the best athletic training facilities and equipment in the
C.I.S. The Max Bell Centre situated on campus, houses an ice arena
and a fieldhouse in one facility. The Bison Hockey team trains
Monday to Thursday at 3:30 p.m. and plays games on Fridays and
Saturdays. Bison Hockey provides all hockey equipment.
Future
Opportunities; the Bison Hockey program is highly regarded
in professional hockey circles and numerous Bison graduates have
continued their hockey careers playing professionally in North
America and Europe.
Competitive
Schedule; the Bisons compete against some of the best university
competition in Canada and the United States. We offer exciting travel
opportunities and we fly to the majority of our games. The team
stays in first class hotels and all meals are provided while on
the road.
