15 - Manitoba swept their weekend road trip out West with a 2-0 win
over #4 ranked Trinity Western. Manitoba improved their record to
3-1-0 and earned only their second back-to-back road victories in
the team's three year history of Canada West play (first time: Sept.
24-25/05 at Regina).
This
is the first time Bison women's soccer, in conference action, has
won any games against B.C. teams on the road.
Karli
Copitts scored twice to register three goals this weekend and
raise her conference goal total to four. Ashley
Forbes earned her first shutout of the season with three saves.
Manitoba has now beaten two ranked teams so far this season (#9 Victoria
and #4 Trinity Western).
The
Bisons return home to host the Lethbridge Pronghorns on Saturday,
September 22 at a special time of 10 a.m. (prior to the Bison football
game) at University Stadium. They will then host Saskatchewan Huskies
on Sunday, September 23 at noon at University Stadium.
