(Vlastik) Cerny
Head Coach
Native
to the Czech Republic Vlastimil has spent most of his life around
the sport of swimming. He started swimming at the age of 7 and continued
his competitive swimming career until the age of 30. In 1991 Vlastimil
started coaching full time as an assistant coach with Calgary's
Cascade Swim Club and in 1993 he took up the position of the Manitoba
Team Head Coach. In this position Vlastimil leads as the coach of
the Bisons, Team Manitoba and the Manitoba National Swim Centre.
Vlastimil still holds the Manitoba provincial records for 50m Free
(23.03), 100m Fly (54.59), and 200m Fly (1:57.60).
