Manitoba
now advances to the CIS Semi Finals where they will face off against
the #1 Alberta Golden Bears. The Bisons have played the Bears on
three occasions and lost all three (3-1, 3-0 in late November and
3-0 in Canada West Final Four last weekend).
This
is the 24th out of the last 25 years for a team led by head coach
Garth Pischke to make the CIS National Championships (only year
missed was the 1996-97 season). The team is trying to improve on
last year's showing at the CIS when they lost in the bronze medal
match to Trinity Western by a 3-1 score (29-27, 25-16, 16-25, 25-21).
