22 - The University of Saskatchewan Huskies defeated the University
fo Manitoba Bisons 3-0, and completed the two match sweep with the
victory today.
The Bisons played hard but the Huskies took over and won the match
in three straight sets (25-21, 27-25, 25-16).
The
Huskies did job defensively and took advantage of ofensive opportunities.
The Bisons had a total of 14 service errors which hurt them in each
set, whereas the Huskies only had 3.
Mark
Dodds lead the way for the Huskies with 14 kills, two service aces
and 3 digs. The team recorded 9 team blocks.
The
Bisons Matt
Balchin lead the way with 11 kills, seven digs and was named
the UMSU player of the game.
This
victory improves Saskatchewan to 12 and 2 in Can West play and brings
Manitoba to a 7 and 7 record.
The
Bisons next match up is against the Brandon Bobcats on January 27
at The Investors Group Athletic Center.
