4 - In men's action Saturday evening, veterans Anthony Dipaola and
Bryan Risselada, played thier final home game for the Cougars as
they will exhust their CIS eligibility at the end of this season.
A
pre-game celebration of their careers was the highlight of the night
as the Cougars dropped a 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 25-17) decision to the
University of Manitoba Bisons.
Regina was not able to hold off a strong Bisons attack, which featured
16 team blocks and 28 kills while requiring only 11 digs all match.
Dipaola
led the Cougars with nine digs, and left his home court for the
last time with his head held high. Chris Knoop killed nine balls
for Regina.
Toon
van Lankvelt led the Manitoba with 17 kills and Jeff
Zylstra added 13.
The
Herd will complete the regular season in Kamloops, B.C. as they
take on the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack. Manitoba sports a 11-7 record
while the Wolfpack are a conference worst 1-17.
A
sweep would clinch second place in the Great Plains Division for
Manitoba which would then see them host the UBC Thunderbirds in
the first round of the playoffs.
