February 17 - In Canada West Quarter Final action at the Investor's Group Athletic Center, the Bison Men's Volleyball team defeated the UBC Thunderbirds 3-0. The Bisons dominated the floor winning the sets 25-20, 25-15, 25-16. Andrew Bonner from UBC recorded 23 attacks, but couldn't outmatch Matt Balchin and Toon van Lankvelt who came up big on the Bisons side. van Lankvelt pounded 13 kills with no errors. Trevor Froese led Manitoba with 6 digs while Richard Chou was tops for the Thunderbirds with 4. The Bisons now lead the best of three series 1-0. They will take the court again on Saturday night and try to repeat their performance from tonight. Game time is 8pm at Investor's Group Athletic Center. |
