October 11 - The men’s volleyball team began their 2005-06 season with a pre-season tournament at the Volleyball Challenge 2005 at the University of Regina from October 7-9.

The Herd played Canada West opponents Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, Calgary, Brandon and host Regina.

The six-team tournament was the first chance for head coach Garth Pischke to evaluate his squad (a veteran club with numerous returning starters) against playing tough opponents this season.
