5 - The game scores are as follows: 1st game 25-22, 2nd game 25-18,
3rd game 33-31. Both teams had great blocks, passes, and hits throughout
the match but the Bisons ended with control winning the match in
three straight against the Huskies.
Both
teams came out with lots of power in the first game. Essentially
kills are determining the game. All passes up, sets up, and hits
to the floor. Strength was definitely shown right from the beginning
in both teams. In the first game the Bisons had more momentum moving
them to finish the game 25-22.
In
game two the Bisons started pounding the ball at the Huskies immediately.
To slowly break the Bisons drive, Huskies Mark Dodds and Kris Brand
crushed the ball onto their court. The Bisons quickly regained control
of the game. Huskies head coach Brian Gavlas tried to change the
way the game was by substituting players. The Huskies put some points
on the board, but the Bisons pushed through to take the game 25-18.
In
the third game everything was on the line. Both teams came out strong
with blocks and kills. The match was very close throughout. After
a long battle the Bisons finished it 33-31, to win the match.
For
the match the top kills for the Bisons goes to both #2 Joshua
Klassen and #8 Matt
Balchin at 13 kills each. For the Huskies #13 Kris Brand had
the highest number of kills at 16. For digs the Huskies Mark Thibeault
had 7 and the Bisons #9 Kyle
Joslin had 8.
The
1-1 Bisons host the Alberta Bears next weekend. Games will be played
November 11 & 12 starting at 8:00 p.m.
