University of Manitoba

Welcome back ...

A warm welcome awaits you during this year, which marks the centenary of the Department. What started as the Department of Geology and Mineralogy in 1910 is dedicated to teaching research in geoscience. We hope you will participate in the Winnipeg Weekend or help mark heritage with the History Wall or Mosaic Map of Manitoba.

If you cannot attend any formal events please feel free to just drop into the Department at any time. Bob Ferguson, Bil Brisbin, Al Turnock, George Clark and Wooil Moon are still regulars. Drop by the Cretaceous Menagerie and Ferguson Museum of Mineralogy or come tour the research facilities. You may want to meet some of our newer faculty and learn about their activities.
