In 1910, Dr. Robert Charles Wallace became the first professor of Geology and Mineralogy at the University of Manitoba.  Now almost 100 years later, the Department of Geological Sciences is looking forward to celebrating its centenary.  Several exciting projects are underway to commemorate the centenary including the “Winnipeg Weekend” to be held on August 27 to 29, 2010.  If you have any questions about Centenary 2010, please contact us at geosci@cc.umanitoba.ca or telephone 204 474-9371.
