Research interests: Satellite geophysics, theoretical and mathematical geophysics; earth science (spatial) information processing; digitial data fusion theory, including GIS; Earth Observation science; theoretical and earthquake seismology; crustal seismology.

Student Research Programs available:
  1. Satellite geophysics - (a) Applied space-borne SAR inteferometry for tectonic analysis (ERS-1, ERS-2, JERS-1 and SIR-L/C/X (NASA Shuttle, etc.)) Ph.D. projects are available.

  2. Crustal seismology, including LITHOPROBE transect programs. Seismic (Reflections, Refractions and VSP) investigation of Sudbury Basin and other Precambrian Structural zones. M.Sc. and Ph.D. projects.

  3. Multispectral integrated inversion and geophysical imaging of data including multiple frequency/multiple polarization SAR data. M.Sc. and Ph.D. projects.

  4. Integrated geophysical tomography research. Ph.D. projects.

  5. Theoretical geophysics (terrestrial boundary layer study, seismic modelling, whole Earth geodynamics using satellites, and Precambrian tectonic processes). M.Sc. and Ph.D. projects.

  6. Geophysical information processing using knowledge representation and spatial reasoning techniques, an advanced GIS application research. M.Sc. and Ph.D. projects.

  7. Geological Application Development for RADARSAT. M.Sc. and Ph.D. projects.
