About
Mission

The LTC fosters and supports the university community in the effective creation and integra­tion of learning technologies into its programs and courses in order to enhance student learn­ing. The LTC provides faculty and graduate students with resources and collaborative support to research, design, develop, implement, and evaluate innovative and pedagogically sound technology mediated learning materials and practices.

Learning Technologies

Supports the improvement in student learning and engagement through the strategic and effective use of learning technologies in university courses.

  • With university partners, design and develop learning resources targeting instructional challenges in university courses.
  • Provide and support open source software solutions targeting instructional challenges in university courses.
  • Provide workshops, symposia, presentations and a Summer Institute on learning technologies.
  • Offer credit courses within our Certificate in Interdisciplinary Studies: Emerging Technologies for Learning.
  • Provide faculty with an opportunity to experiment with new and innovative uses of technology for teaching and learning.

Research

We conduct research on learning technologies, and publish and present research findings within the university community and through journals and conferences.

Strategic Planning

Provide consultation to faculties seeking to strategically plan for the use of technologies in teaching and learning in traditional classrooms, blended, or fully online programs.

Develop frameworks and procedures to assist faculties in making decisions regarding technologies use in teaching and learning.

Digital Copyright

Clear digital copyright for learning resources used in courses and act as a resource for the university on digital copyright issues.
