Your Library ID Number and PIN are your keys to several important library systems, including My Library Account and access to online electronic resources. When one of these systems asks you to enter a user name and password, it is usually looking for your Library ID Number and PIN/Password.
University of Manitoba Students
| ID number: | Your 7-digit student number |
| Default PIN: | Your birth date in the format YYMMDD. For example: 870223 equals February 23, 1987. You must change from a default pin before using it to access the Proxy Server or other restricted resources. |
University of Manitoba Faculty and Staff
(cards issued after January 1, 1997)
| ID number: | All 14 digits on the card |
| Default PIN: | The date you registered with the libraries, in the format YYMMDD.

| ID number: | 22212+ all 9 digits on a student or staff card (including the two numbers in black) |
| Default PIN: | Last four red digits of the ID number.
For example: ID: 22212062098229 You must change from a default pin before using it to access the Proxy Server or other restricted resources. |
You can change your PIN by following these steps:
If you have forgotten your PIN you can have it e-mailed to yourself.
Otherwise, you can have the PIN reset for you. To do this you must:

If your PIN is reset to the default pin, you MUST change it before you will be able to access the electronic resources (e-journals, NETDOC) from off-campus.
