Obituaries for Cyril Meredith Jones, 1901-1982
& Bernhardt A. E. Leser,
1918-1982.
Prof. Jones was born in Newport, Wales, and obtained a Doctorat
d'Université from L'Université de Paris (Sorbonne) in 1936. He joined
the University of Manitoba in 1928, and became a Prof. Emeritus in 1972. French language and literature were his scholarly research areas.
Prof. Leser was born in Stockholm, and was educated at the universities
of Paris, Uppsala, and Portland, Oregon. He joined the University of North
Dakota in 1969. French, German and Scandinavian literature and comparative
studies were among his research interests.
