SUDDENLY A SPY
Volume 19 Number 1
Robert Sutherland, a Scots-Canadian, has written several novels of mystery and adventure for young people. Suddenly a Spy is set in wartime England during the Blitz. The author's World War II experiences in the Canadian navy lend authenticity to his setting.
The exploits of Peter Coll, eighteen-year-old Canadian sailor hero, are rather far fetched, though. Peter's exploits do, however, make a wonderfully exciting story that should be enjoyed by children in upper elementary school as well as by less able readers in junior high. It is the kind of book this reviewer loved as a child.
