Living in
Portland, Oregon Cost of living for Portland State graduate students has been estimated to be about $4,200 per quarter (three months), and housing will run about $600 per month. There are two college links that describe campus housing options and opportunities in more detail at: www.chnw.org and www.intl.pdx.edu/internationaled/index.htm. There are also possibilities for home stays if desired. Quarterly all-zone public transportation passes for students are available for about $125. A campus view of Portland. |
Opportunities
for Supplementing Grant Stipend
There may be a possibility for Spanish-speaking students from Mexico to work as teaching assistants in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. If available, students would receive a monthly stipend of roughly $575. There is also a possibility that Canadian students would be eligible for a research assistantship in International Studies/Canadian Studies for about the same stipend described above. |
