The 48th meeting of the
Linguistic Circle of Manitoba & North
Dakota will be held at the Minot
State University, ND, on Saturday & Sunday,
October 22-23, 2005. Friday night,
there will be a Welcome Dinner at the
local International Inn. Proposals***
for papers,
accompanied by an
abstract of
up to three pages suitable for publication
in the LCMND
Proceedings, should be sent to any
of the LCMND officers listed below, in
particular, President
Robert Kibler,
MSU, by September 22, 2005.
***Only
members in good standing may present
a paper at the conference. If your
2005 dues have not yet been paid,
please send them along to LCMND

soon as possible, with your membership
information solicited on the form

The program normally includes papers
on a wide range of literary, cultural, historical, didactic,
or linguistic topics. Ideally, presentations are
timed to take 20 minutes for delivery, but must
not exceed 25 minutes.
Please note that only Members of the Linguistic Circle in good
standing (i.e., whose membership dues have been paid) may present papers.
To achieve good standing, send a cheque made out to the Linguistic Circle of Manitoba and North Dakota to the
Secretary-Treasurer.
Include the membership information indicated below.
Confirmationthat your proposal has been
accepted for this year's LCMND Program will
be sent upon receipt of the annual membership fee. Preregistration
forms, information on hotel accommodations & other
local arrangements will be provided in a timely manner at this website,
and also at MSU http://www.minotstateu.edu/lcmnd/
