The Languages & Cultures Circle of Manitoba & North Dakota invites
you to consider issues of language(s) and power in literature, rhetoric, culture,
professional, technical, or scientific communication, social and regional language,
varieties, multilingual encounters, and the lexicons and grammatical structures
of languages. Other topics related to language and culture, especially those with
a view to media, technology, and communications, are also welcome. Sessions will
be organized into English and French panels.
LCMND conferences are a delight to take part in and peculiarly regional, international,
and trans-continental all at the same time. Sessions are typically held in English
and French but have featured the Dakota language as well. When the conference
last met at North Dakota State University in Fargo, it drew participants from
coast to coast in both the U.S. and Canada.
Fargo's vibrant, revitalized downtown was recently named by the American Planning
Association as one of the top 10 neighborhoods in the U.S.
Location: Radisson Inn, downtown Fargo
