1999 Pan Am Games - The University of Manitoba

Legacies
February 1999

  • Financial contributions from the Pan American Society to upgrade the U of M residences. The legacy of this refurbishing is one which will benefit students for many years.

  • Construction of the Investors Group Athletic Centre

  • Replaced indoor track at the Max Bell Centre Fieldhouse

  • New track and upgrades to the University Stadium

  • Improvements to landscaping, lighting and walkways

  • Contributions towards the Faculty of Nursing Building

  • The most significant legacy will be the memories and the experience of being a part of the largest multicultural sporting event ever to be held in Canada
