The Office of Research Ethics administers the university's animal care and use programs and procedures for human ethics.

The University of Manitoba is committed to maintaining high standards and expects that its staff and students will carry out research and scholarly work maintaining the highest ethical and scientific standards of academic integrity. 

Standards for animal care and use are those outlined in the most current Guide to the Care and Use of Experimental Animals published by the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) and in other guidelines published or endorsed by the CCAC.

The University of Manitoba is committed to complying with the intent of the Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS 2) with respect to ethical conduct for research involving humans.
