Submission Deadlines: New Research Protocols

Deadline for receipt of all new research protocol submissions, including studies that qualify for expedited/delegated review are on the submission deadline dates listed below. The submission must be HAND DELIVERED OR COURIERED to the office by the monthly submission deadline date.

Amendments and Annual Approvals requiring full board review:

Deadline dates for submitting amendments and annual approvals for full board review is the same as per the above table.

Tabled protocols:

Deadline for the response to a research protocol that has been previously reviewed and Tabled by the Research Ethics Board is one week prior to the meeting dates as listed above. The submission must be hand delivered or sent via courier to the REB office.

Amendments, Annual Approvals and other study related materials that do not require full board review:

All other requests for review and/or approval can be submitted at anytime. These submissions can be sent via internal mail, Canada Post or courier to the REB office.

INSTITUTIONAL APPROVAL?
NOTE:  You must also contact the  institution(s) or organization(s) (e.g. Health Sciences Centre, St. Boniface Hospital, WRHA, CADAM Lab, Manitoba Centre for Health Policy, Manitoba Health, etc.) where research activities will be conducted and/or services  accessed to determine the submission requirements/deadlines specific for conducting research at that facility.

HAVE YOU COMPLETED THE CORE TUTORIAL?
Please note that by September 1, 2011 all submissions made to any of the five (5) University of Manitoba Research Ethics Boards (REBs) for protocol review and approval will require completion of the   TCPS 2: Course on Research Ethics (CORE).  Please include a copy of the certificate with your submissions.
