Internal Funding, Deadlines & Forms

To encourage the development of research, the university offers a number of research support programs.  A creative works support program is also offered to enhance the overall quality of artistic production at the University.  These programs are administered on behalf of the university by the Office of Research Services, 540 Machray Hall, Fort Garry Campus.

This program stimulates and supports the growth of research at the university. New faculty are particularly encouraged to apply.

Provides support for small-scale research projects in the social sciences and humanities. Open to researchers in SSHRC-supported disciplines.

Provides support for basic or applied research in the health sciences.

Samuel Weiner Distinguished Visitor Award

May 1

Brings distinguished scholars who are making outstanding contributions within their field(s) of research to the university for visits of up to one month.

Travel and Conference Sponsorship Program  


NEW - Tri-Agency Bridge Funding Program
The Office of the Vice-President (Research and International) will provide short-term funds to faculty members who have been unsuccessful in renewing their Tri-Agency grant support from SSHRC and NSERC, in order to maintain their research programs and research productivity and to increase their likelihood of success in a subsequent competition.
