Above: Dominique Rey, Shell Girl, 2008, oil on canvas, 42"x30" Dominique Rey is a photographer, video artist, and painter. She graduated with a BFA Honours Degree and was recipient of the gold medal from the University of Manitoba in 1999. She later studied at the Yale Summer School program at Norfolk. Rey recently completed her MFA at the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College (NY). Her work has been shown in several solo exhibitions: The Bathers at Gallery One One One and Au-dela de l'image; L'etre et l'autre at the Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain in Winnipeg in 2002. Rey has received grants from the Manitoba Arts Council, the Canada Council for the Arts and the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation. Her work has been reviewed in Border Crossings, the Winnipeg Free Press, ETC Montreal, and the Globe and Mail. In 2005, Rey exhibited her project Selling Venus/Venus au miroir in solo exhibitions at Plug In ICA and La Maison des artistes (Winnipeg), and Le Centre d'art et de diffusion Clark (Montreal).
