University of Manitoba - School of Art - Student Gallery Call for Proposals
Student Gallery Call for Proposals

The School of Art Student Gallery in the Taché Hall music addition is opening a call for proposals for exhibitions. Solo, group, and curated student shows are all welcome in any medium ranging from painting to performance, audio to animation, and everything in-between, including traditional and expanded practices, and interdisciplinary works. The call is for exhibitions beginning November 20, 2019. Exhibitions will typically run for one or two weeks, but we welcome proposals for exhibitions, events, performances, and/or happenings for shorter lengths of time.

Please submit the following to SOA.StudentGallery@umanitoba.ca by Thursday, November 7th

i) 3-6 images of work to be exhibited (if work is in progress, please provided detailed sketch)
ii) Completed proposal form (see attached)
iii) Brief (150-250 word) exhibition description
iv) Proposed dates of exhibition
v) A floor plan sketch of your exhibition (see proposal form)

The School of Art Student Gallery Committee will favour proposals with breadth and intention. All skill levels and ideas are welcome. Students interested in applying as solo artists can indicate they are also willing to be considered for group shows. The committee is dedicated to showing a wide variety of work during the academic year, and to ensuring the Gallery is inclusive and representative of our diverse student population. This call for proposals is open to School of Art undergraduate and graduate students, though students from other units at the University of Manitoba may be included in group exhibitions. Please direct any questions to David Foster at david.foster@umanitoba.ca.
