“City of Winnipeg Smart City Transportation Transformation”

Date: Thursday, March 15, 2018

In March of 2015, the City of Winnipeg approved the implementation of Winnipeg’s first Transportation Management Centre (TMC). Less than two years later the City of Winnipeg officially opened its TMC complete with 100% signalized intersection connectivity and a citywide LTE network of traffic monitoring cameras providing unprecedented real-time understanding of transportation activity in the city. At the foundation of the TMC operation is the integration of geospatial data, state-of-the-art technology, and data science to derive actionable and increasingly automated insights. Learn how Winnipeg’s TMC has become a catalyst for cross-silo collaboration and the transformation of city services to enable better and faster informed decisions, communication, and ultimately improved service.

Local tech company Trainfo will also be joining to provide an industry perspective on the use of IoT, geospatial data, machine learning, statistics, and their integration with the TMC and how this is leading towards realizing improved emergency response outcomes and more.
