In-class presentations and workshops
If there is a particular aspect of academic writing that you would like to work on with your students, an ALC instructor can be scheduled to make a presentation or facilitate a workshop in your class. We have made presentations in a wide variety of courses, ranging from History and Political Studies to Recreation Management. We have also given workshops in professional programs, such as Social Work and Occupational Therapy.

Presentations that we have made in the past include

  • Developing a Thesis Statement
  • Using Sources Effectively and Correctly
  • Citing and Referencing in MLA / APA / Chicago
  • Writing a Critical Review
  • Synthesizing Information for a Literature Review

These presentations are usually 30 to 50 minutes.

If you are interested in setting up an ALC workshop for your class, please use our online Workshop Request Form.

Please note that ALC instructors need at least 3 weeks of advance notice in order to prepare a workshop for your class and will be able to schedule a time to meet with your class, subject to their availability.
