If you are applying from high school, a high school transcript must be submitted. If you are a current Manitoba Grade 12 student and if you apply for admission for September by May 1st, our office will be responsible for collecting your high school record directly from your high school. All other candidates applying for admission on the basis of graduation from high school must make their own arrangements to submit complete, official high school records, including proof of graduation, to our office. If you have previously attended university or college but have completed less than 24 credit hours of study, you must submit your high school records in addition to your university or college transcript.

Certified translations are required if the original high school record is issued in a language other than English or French.

High school subject prerequisites exist for some first year university courses (e.g. specific courses in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics). If you wish to register for such courses should make sure that your high school transcripts have been provided to our office prior to your registration date.

If you are applying for Advanced Early Admission on the basis of your Grade 11 marks, you must submit an official copy of your high school records including final marks in all Grade 11 marks with your application.

If you are applying as a mature status student, you must provide official proof of date of birth (i.e., birth certificate, passport). You must also forward official transcripts for any university or college you may have attended and your high school record if you have completed any Grade 12 courses.

If you have attended another institution of higher learning, you must arrange to have official transcripts forwarded directly from that institution to our office. Student copies are not acceptable. University transcripts that are submitted for admission purposes become the property of the University of Manitoba and will not be returned to you. Transcripts are not required for any work previously completed at the University of Manitoba. If you have less than one year of university study completed, you are also required to submit an official copy of your high school records and/or birth certificate.

Certified translations are required if the original transcript is issued in a language other than English or French.

You may also be asked to supply course descriptions or additional information to assist in the evaluation of your earlier course work. This material must be supplied in English.

If you are applying as a visiting student, you must present a 'Letter of Permission' from the Registrar of your home university which indicates the specific courses permitted.

If you are applying as an auditing student, you must present written permission to audit from the instructor of the courses you wish to take.

If you were born outside of Canada and you are a Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen, you are required to provide immigration document as proof of immigration status and the "Landed on" date.

If you have changed your name, you must substantiate this with appropriate documentation. If you are a married applicant with academic credentials under your birth name, you must submit a marriage certificate.

If English is not your first language, you may be asked to provide proof of English language proficiency. If you are required to prove proficiency in the use of the English language, you must request results of the T.O.E.F.L. or other acceptable examination to be forwarded directly to our office. Student copies cannot be accepted.

Please note: Some programs will require additional material to be submitted to assist in the selection process. For example, if you are applying to the School of Music you will be asked to attend an audition, or if you are applying to the School of Art you will be asked to submit a portfolio. If you are applying for an advanced-entry program, these requirements will be detailed on the Applicant Information Bulletin for that program.

PHOTOCOPIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

It is suggested that original documents be sent by registered mail or courier to prevent loss. All documents sent by registered mail or by courier will be returned by registered mail.
