Mature Student

It's never too late to go back to school! Whether you have recently finished high school, are looking for a career change, or just want to take some general courses, we offer the programs and supports to help you succeed!

Eligibility
Mature student status is meant only for student who do not meet their high school or transfer student requirements. You can apply as a mature status student if you meet all of the following conditions:

  • you do NOT meet the high school requirements
  • you are a least 21 years of age
  • you are a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident
  • you have never previously attended university or college OR have completed less that 24 credit hours (four full courses)

Program Choices
As a mature student, you may apply to any one of the direct entry program options listed below. Please click on any of the following choices for more detailed program information:

University 1
Engineering*
School of Art
General Studies - Extended Education(Canadian Military)
Music

If you are interested in one of our advanced entry program options, please apply to University 1 to complete the required first year courses.

*Please note that Engineering mature student applicants still require a minimum of 60% in Grade 12 chemistry, physics, and mathematics and a minimum average of 85% over these subjects. Please see your province's high school requirements for Engineering for a list of the specific required courses from your province.

Upgrading courses in math, chemistry and physics are available for students who require these courses to be eligible for a specific program.
