2. Next Steps

1. Receive information from your faculty

• Once you have been admitted, your faculty will provide you with information to help you choose your courses and access important supports and services.
• If you have received a Start Book, use this as your course selection guide. Review the Start Book carefully to determine the specific courses you will need to meet your first year requirements.
• If you have not received a Start Book, your faculty will provide you with an alternate source of information to assist you with choosing your courses.
• Program and graduation requirements and U of M course descriptions can be found in the Academic Calendar.

2. Prepare for course registration

• Aurora Student is the online registration system you will use to search and select courses.
• Review the Online Registration Tutorials to learn the appropriate steps for course registration, and how to navigate Aurora Student.
• Use Aurora Student to search the Course Catalog and Class Schedule for course descriptions and available class sections.
• Your course selection guide and the Class Schedule will be used to build your Timetable. Instructions and forms for building a timetable can be found at the U1 First Year Centre.
• Attending an on-campus Pre-Registration session is a great way to learn more about time management and timetabling. Check back in June for dates & times, or visit umanitoba.ca/u1.

3. Register for courses

• Once you have selected your courses and created your timetable, you are ready to register!
• On July 8th 2013, you may view your Registration Access Time – find it in Aurora Student, under Registration Time & Status.  This is the earliest date and time at which you can begin to register for Fall and Winter term classes. You will continue to be able to register for classes until the end of the Registration Revision Period for each term.
• After completing your registration, continue to use Aurora Student to review your registration, view a detailed weekly class schedule, view your fee assessment, find your booklist, and more!
