Career Services
Career planning has taken on new dimensions for students in today's changing economy. It is important that students establish a career direction early in their studies, then formulate plans for reaching their goals. The Student Counselling and Career Centre offers the following at the Fort Garry Campus:

Career Planning Workshop (Schedule 2012)

The Career Planning Workshop is an appropriate starting point for students seeking career counselling.  During the workshop, which often includes two sessions, a career counsellor will guide participants through a host of interactive activities and discussions. During session 1, students will discuss career planning strategies, career planning beliefs and myths and individual career planning needs. Students will also begin the process of career self-assessment.

In session 2, students will use self-assessment information to identify and evaluate potential career options. An overview of career resources will be included. Career planning barriers and solutions will be included. Upon completion of session two, interested students can receive up to three individual career counselling sessions with the facilitating counsellor. Career Planning Workshops are held throughout the year with a new session starting each week during the regular academic year. Students should pre-register at the Student Counselling and Career Centre. A nominal fee will apply.
