The Career Planning Workshop can assist students seeking help with career planning and decision making. During the workshop, a career counsellor will guide participants through a host of interactive activities and discussions.

SPRING 2013 EMPLOYMENT WORKSHOPS

Career Services hosts various workshops to assist students with their employment needs. The workshops are facilitated by an Employment Advisor and are free for students to attend. Workshops are held at the Student Counselling and Career Centre, 474 University Centre and are scheduled during the spring and fall sessions.

Students wishing to attend a workshop must pre-register. Space is limited. Students are expected to arrive 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time. ** Late arrivals will not be permitted into the workshop once it has commenced.

RESUME DEVELOPMENT

A resume is a valuable tool. It is a way to market your experience, skills and education to a potential employer.  View the Resume Webshop and learn different resume components, how to assess your skills, types of resume formats, and how to demonstrate your skills to an employer.  If you would like additional information, register to attend a Resume Development Workshop where you can assess resume formats according to empoyer needs and practice writing demonstration statements.

INTERVIEW DEVELOPMENT

The interview is a two-way exchange of information. The employer is marketing their organization and you are marketing your skills, knowledge, and personal qualities. View the Interview Webshops to learn how to prepare for an interview, types of interview questions and how to best answer these questions, other methods of evaluation and how to follow-up after the interview.  Register to attend an Interview Preparation Workshop where you can practice key interview skills and answer common questions.

PREPPING FOR THE MMI: Interview Strategies and Recommendations

Multiple Mini-station Interview (MMI) is a significant component of he admission process to many health care professional programs. This workshop will use an interactive approach to address MMI questions, tasks and possible reponses. 

This workshop is available to University of Manitoba students and is free.  Space is limited and students must pre-register on careerCONNECT  to attend on of the following workshops.
