ICS organizes recreational activities and events throughout the year.
- Sports Nights: Learn about Canada’s obsession with hockey, watch a few U of M Bisons sports matches, meet some of U of M’s sports team members, or participate in a sporting tournament.
- Fall Migration Tour: Manitoba is famous for its wildlife. The natural spectacle of the annual fall migration is an attraction for tourists each fall. Join ICS for an evening at the FortWhyte Alive Centre to watch as thousands of geese and ducks descend in the Centre’s lakes at dusk. Don’t forget your camera!
- Arts and Cultural Events: Winnipeg has a world-famous ballet troupe (the Royal Winnipeg Ballet), a celebrated symphony orchestra, and a vibrant theatre and music scene that attracts local and touring performance groups. ICS organizes artistic and cultural outings to give students a chance to experience Winnipeg’s rich artistic community firsthand.
- W.O.W. – World Opportunities Week is held each November to inform students about travel, study, internship, work, and volunteer opportunities around the world. If you're looking for an international experience, W.O.W. is the place to start!
- Snowshoeing: Get out and try something new! Each winter, ICS takes students on an evening snowshoeing hike on beautiful wooded trails at FortWhyte Alive nature centre.
- Ski Trip: The annual ICS ski/snowboard trip to Holiday Mountain is held during Reading Week each February. Always a popular event, students are encouraged to register early.
- Day-Trips Around Winnipeg and Manitoba: Spend a day at The Forks market, try canoeing on the river, join us for a trip to Winnipeg Beach, or take in the Icelandic festival in Gimli.
