Peers: Students Helping Students is recruiting volunteers for the 2013-2014 academic year.
To apply please fill out and print off the application form. Applications can be handed in to our office at 150 University Centre, at which point you will be asked to sign up for a mandatory orientation session. The deadline for application is Friday, March 1, 2013 at 4:30 PM.
Peers: SHS is on Facebook! "Like" our page and watch for regular updates regarding Student Affairs and UMSU events and workshops, and Volunteer Recruitment.

Peers: SHS So, who are we?We are an approachable and confidential resource for students who have questions, need to talk with someone about personal issues, want information on different issues or topics or have academic questions or concerns. Peers are:
- Supportive listeners
- Campus connectors
- Skilled communicators
- Friendly students
All services are confidential* and are available to all student members of the university community at no charge.We work on a drop-in basis, so feel free to stop by or call us.The Peers: SHS program is jointly funded by University of Manitoba Students' Union and Student Affairs.Brochure
*Confidentiality Statement The Peers: SHS program defines confidentiality as an environment where students can openly discuss their issues with an unbiased, trained listener, who is also a fellow student. The discussion stays within the Peers: SHS program. Sometimes confidentiality must be extended to outside support. This occurs when:
- The welfare or safety of a child (anyone under the age of 18) is at risk (i.e. child abuse and/or neglect).
- There is an intention to harm another individual.
- There is an intention to harm one's self.
